No Greater Love
Memorial Day theme based on John 15:13 (May 16, 2025)
Verse 1:
On a hill where courage stands,
In fields of sacrifice,
Echoes whisper from the past,
A debt no heart denies.
Lives surrendered willingly,
To guard what we believe,
In shadows of their bravery,
We find the air we breathe.
Chorus:
No greater love, than a man lays down his life for another
No greater sacrifice than to pay the highest price for our freedom
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”
Verse 2:
On a cross of rugged wood,
Redemption wrote its name,
Love displayed, misunderstood,
Bearing all our shame.
His life given willingly,
A ransom fully paid,
Freedom bought at Calvary,
Salvation firmly laid.
Chorus:
Bridge:
Every freedom has its cost,
Every victory, sacrifice.
Honor bound by what was lost,
In the giving of each life.
Jesus' blood and soldiers brave,
Both fought battles to release,
One secured eternal grace,
One preserved our earthly peace.
