When the road feels long and heavy,
and your strength is nearly gone,
When the night is dark around you,
and you wonder if you’ll carry on,
There’s a promise in the Scripture,
friend, don’t forget this bit—
The harvest comes in due season,
it’s always too soon to quit!
It’s always too soon to quit,
keep pressing on by faith,
For the Lord is working through it,
His mercy gives you grace.
Don’t grow weary in the battle,
there’s a crown that you will get—
Hold on to the Savior’s promise,
it’s always too soon to quit!
When the tears fall down like rivers,
and the load is hard to bear,
Lift your eyes unto the heavens,
your Redeemer’s standing there.
He has never failed His children,
His Word is firmly set,
The battle’s won through Jesus’ power—
it’s always too soon to quit!
It’s always too soon to quit,
keep pressing on by faith,
For the Lord is working through it,
His mercy gives you grace.
Don’t grow weary in the battle,
there’s a crown that you will get—
Hold on to the Savior’s promise,
it’s always too soon to quit!
One day we’ll reap in glory,
if we faint not, says the Word (Galatians 6:9),
So fix your eyes on Jesus,
and trust what you have heard.
It’s always too soon to quit,
keep pressing on by faith,
For the Lord is working through it,
His mercy gives you grace.
Don’t grow weary in the battle,
there’s a crown that you will get—
Hold on to the Savior’s promise,
it’s always too soon to quit!
Oh yes… it’s always too soon to quit!
